Cuphead is one of those throwback releases that you either love or hate. It is a callback to the “good old days” of gaming. Back when things were tough, tutorials were rare, and you were on your own most of the time. Couple that classic with one of the first portable platforms for an interesting […]

Battletoads 2020 Review
August 21st, 2020
Carl Williams Battletoads is one of the latest classic franchises to see a resurgence on modern hardware. This long since the last official release should make anyone concerned. It generally does not end well for the newer release. Call it viewing things through rose colored glasses or what have you, something is usually missing from the newer […]

August 21st, 2020
Carl Williams Verge World is an upcoming voxel-based 3D shooter for the Sega Genesis and Commodore Amiga. Interestingly, this is the first voxel-based game for the Sega Genesis. For those wondering, this title shares a similar view to Nintendo’s Star Fox. The difference is the graphics.

Overhead Racing Returns with Art of Rally
August 20th, 2020
Carl Williams Art of Rally is an upcoming, overhead, racing game that calls back to simpler times. If you have played Power Drive Rally (Atari Jaguar) or Neo Drift Out (Neo Geo) then you know what to expect here. I must throw a nod at Sega Rally and the Colin McRae franchise too here (rally games have […]
Fan Creates Streets of Rage Demo for Commodore Amiga
August 16th, 2020
Carl Williams Streets of Rage was never ported to the Commodore Amiga. I do not believe it was ported to any computer platform back in the day. I know later Sega released it on PC via compilation packs but those used emulation. A fan over on the English Amiga Board forums has created a demo of SoR […]
Family Guy Invades Resident Evil 7 in New Mod
August 15th, 2020
Carl Williams Resident Evil 7 and Family Guy do not exactly scream crossover at first. Give it a second and think about it and you will still be hard pressed to see this working. Do not worry, I am right there with you on this. That has not stopped a modder from doing it though. If you […]
Goldeneye 25 Fan Remake Receives Shut Down Orders
August 15th, 2020
Carl Williams Goldeneye 25, a fan remake of the Nintendo 64 Goldeneye 64 game, has been shut down. The news first broke earlier this week that MGM/Danjaq have shut the fan project down. This is sad news but, honestly, it is inevitable. The fans obviously did not obtain a license to use the James Bond characters.

Carl Williams Willy Morgan and the Curse of Bone Town is a newly released point and click adventure. The developers, imaginarylab, are based in Italy and this is their first game. Before you pass judgement on this game, check out the trailer after the jump. I am sure longtime adventure fans will see more than a few […]
Billy Masters Was Right Preview, Maniac Mansion Style Point and Click Adventure
July 18th, 2020
Carl Williams Billy Masters Was Right is a callback to the classic LucasFilm title Maniac Mansion. When pulling on that kind of pedigree you better have a good game. While a final verdict is yet to come, I can safely say, fans of the genre will love this one. The graphical style, text overlay, etc are all […]
