Vectorblade is a Vectrex port of a PC game called Warblade. This is an overhead scrolling shooter with some great use of the Vectrex. This is a genre that has been around for decades. Interestingly, it was not one that hit the Vectrex, until now. This is one I might be decent at.

Screaming Wings 2020 Improves Atari 8 Bit Computer Game
July 11th, 2020
Carl Williams Screaming Wings 2020 is an interesting creation. At its core it is mainly a graphical improvement. What it represents is just how cool computer gaming can be. Sure, there have been graphical improvements for console games. Sadly, most of those require a specific emulator to run. Worst case scenario they run on original hardware but […]
1942 Mobile Review on Android
March 10th, 2017
Carl Williams Capcom has painted itself into a corner with its mobile releases. Review: Sky Force 2014 on Android
June 20th, 2014

Even the best looking ones available today on Android or iOS are usually “just” on par with what the SNES was putting out later in its life, let alone newer consoles such as Playstation or Dreamcast. There simply is not a lot that developers are […]

March 17th, 2014
Carl Williams Overhead scrolling shooters are as retro as can be, they are one of the first styles of game created way back in the day (I am counting Asteroids and Space Invaders here folks). Unlike Mig 2D: Retro Shooter, RetroShips is going for the straight up retro shooter style of overhead gaming. Weapons, enemies and level […]
