Vectorblade is a Vectrex port of a PC game called Warblade. This is an overhead scrolling shooter with some great use of the Vectrex. This is a genre that has been around for decades. Interestingly, it was not one that hit the Vectrex, until now. This is one I might be decent at.

Fastball New Vectrex Baseball Game Coming Soon
July 1st, 2020
Carl Williams Fastball is a new Vextrex baseball game. For those that do not know about the Vectrex console it was a special platform from the early 1980’s. Those that own one love it. While independent homebrew is not as popular for this platform as it is on others, the Vectrex holds its own. This baseball game […]
Vectrex Elite Work in Progress
May 27th, 2020
Carl Williams Elite for the Vectrex is one of those “why not” things. You know what I am talking about. Castlevania on Atari 2600. Shadow of the Beast on Atari 2600. Super Mario 64 on Atari 2600. Nice to see the Vectrex getting some “why not” love now that I think about it. Elite was released about […]
Dead of Knight Vectrex Game Coming
June 7th, 2016
Carl Williams It is interesting to note that while we just covered another indie movie to game combo by Joe Grisaffi (Conjoined), he is not resting. Joe has another movie available that is receiving the game treatment. Dead of Knight is being ported to the Vectrex console. I say ported because it is based on the Atari […]
The Vectrex Goes to Hell with Doom Port
July 16th, 2015
Carl Williams Doom, a title released in 1993, was never intended to be playable on something like the Vectrex but thanks to homebrew developers, it is. This is what happens homebrew developers decide they want to see if something is possible. The demo shown off doesn’t have enemies implemented yet and the graphics are, obviously, low quality […]
Bad Apple Ported to the Vectrex, Something that Should Technically not be Possible
July 16th, 2015
Carl Williams Bad Apple is not a game of any kind, instead it is a music video based on a level from the fourth Touhou series of games called Lotus Land Story. In 1998, Lotus Land Story was released for the PC-98, a Japanese gaming computer that was quite popular and home to many interesting, many Japanese […]
VipEüt Asks What Would WipEout Look Like on Vectrex
March 12th, 2015
Carl Williams Demakes, taking a newer game and porting it to an older console that is probably not powerful enough to run it, is popular in the retrogaming world. We have seen things such as Halo 2600, Far Cry 4 for Sega Genesis/SNES and more over the years. The Vectrex, a defunct console released by Milton Bradley, […]
New Game: Vectrex Receives Two Christmas Themed Games
December 15th, 2014
Carl Williams Throughout gaming there have been only a few “dedicated” Christmas games released. There was Christmas Nights on the Sega Saturn and there is a Christmas themed Jazz Jackrabbit game, I believe. That is pretty much it. Sure there are games that feature ice levels and the like but not too many that have a snowy, […]
Flappy Bird Clone on Vectrex Appears, Veccy Bird
February 25th, 2014
Carl Williams Flappy Bird may have been pulled from the various app stores out there but that has not stopped the clones from appearing. So far, the Atari 2600 has received a clone and now, the Vectrex has received a Flappy Bird clone called Veccy Bird.
Bloxorz, New Vectrex Title Available in Demo Form
October 8th, 2013
Carl Williams The Vectrex, the little system that was probably quite a bit ahead of its time, par for the course on these things, which died decades ago is receiving a new title. Bloxorz is a puzzle title that is quite reminiscent of Intelligent Qube but more “puzzly” and quite interesting looking.
