Another entry in what in the world category is this. Five Nights at Freddy’s has been ported to the Game.com handheld. Yes, you read that right, the horrible commercial failure known as the Game.com. It just got a new game. Five Nights at Freddy’s, a title originally released in 2014. As expected, the graphics are black and white, and somehow, more eerie now than in color.
Identity crisis filled handheld
The Game.com by Tiger Electronics was quite a marvel. On paper. This thing had basic Internet access, a touch screen, and of course games. The device was hampered by a horrible screen. The choice in screen certainly hurt the devices sales.
I remember seeing a demo unit in a Walmart years ago. The device was nearly unplayable under the conditions it was setup. This did not make the handheld seem appealing to me. Based on the sales of the device, it was not popular with fans.
Several games were released for the Game.com but none were blockbusters at retail. Even Resident Evil 2 saw release on this handheld, one of the earliest portable versions of the game.
Tiger Electronics discontinued the Game.com in 2000 due to poor sales.
Five Nights at Freddy’s goes portable
The portable version of Five Nights at Freddy’s is the work of Алексей Пилипенко.
