Get ready for Turrican Flashback if you are a fan of action games. Fans of run and gun games know the name Turrican quite well. If not, then I must ask, just how big a fan of the genre are you? Anyhow, ININ Games are working with Factor 5 to create a curated Turrican collection. Titled Turrican Flashback will feature four games and is coming to the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

How collections should be made

First, I want to give ININ Games props for working with Factor 5 here. They are working with the original developer to choose what games are included. Turrican Flashback will include Turrican, Turrican II: The Final Fight, Mega Turrican, and Super Turrican.

This is not just a compilation; this is a gathering of fans making it happen. The original team at Factor 5 worked with preservation specialists Ratalaika Games with ININ Games publishing.

If you prefer physical copies, who does not, then get prepared as Limited Run Games are handling that version. The ININ Games version will be digital only on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

Turrican Flashback details fans need to know

While four games in one is awesome, we need to know what else is going on here. These games are being reworked with modern control schemes in mind – I love that. Nothing sucks worse than playing a classic game and having to “deal” with archaic control setups.

Next up, graphic options. It seems you will be able to play with shaders and such in this collection. Neat. There are also plans for wallpapers and different display options if you are into that stuff.

Since it is 2020, there is a rewind feature and save states. Yep, screw up and no more going back to the beginning of the level. Instead, you can rewind the game and try till your heart is content. Great news they are making use of these options.

Turrican Flashback will be available on PlayStation 4’s PlayStation Network and the Nintendo Switch eShop soon. Limited Run Games will offer their version soon as well.
