Upcoming Game Boy Game Where is My Body Successfully Funded on Kickstarter

Where is My Body Nintendo Game Boy Kickstarter

Where is My Body is now fully funded on Kickstarter. This new title is for the Nintendo Game Boy. The original Game Boy. The developer states the story has a very Maniac Mansion feel to it. Yep, this is an adventure title. That is great considering the original Game Boy screen is not suited for fast moving action. Oh, there will not be a digital release either. Cartridge or nothing on this one.

Not much to go on

Right now, Where is My Body is mostly mysterious. There is not a lot of information available on the story. You control a severed hand that becomes conscious. Seems Dr. Pentagon mistakenly resurrected your hand in a science based accident. Now you are on a quest to put back together your body.

The game will be broken up into two sections.

The first part is “The Lab”, here you are required to solve puzzles to advance out of the lab. Once you complete that task, you move onto part two, “The City”.

In The City you are tasked with completing your body. Follow the clues and solve mysteries to piece yourself back together.

Where is My Body keeps physical gaming alive

As mentioned already, there will not be a digital release. This is something the prolific developer has done with all her releases so far. You can support future development of Game Boy games on her website, GreenBoyGames. There are many releases available covering various genres.

While it is unfortunate that no digital releases will be made available, it is par for the course. Not many independent homebrew developers are willing to make digital copies available. Maybe it is due to piracy, maybe it is just a lack of interest in the medium. Digital usually happens whether the developer/publisher is involved or not though as piracy is widespread.

Where is My Body has crushed the Kickstarter funding goal. As of this writing, there are a few days left if you want to get in on it. I would not hesitate though.
