Mr Driller is one of those under the radar games that fans love. For those that do not know, this Bandai Namco game is a puzzle game with action elements. The setup is very similar to that of Tetris with you controlling a character drilling horizontally and downward. Mr Driller Drillland expands on this idea with more of everything. It is also the first time Mr Driller has officially launched on the Nintendo Switch.
Mr Driller Drillland updates
Bandai Namco are adding a lot of updates to Mr Driller Drillland. Graphics, audio, HD cutscenes, you name it. This is rather interesting as Bandai Namco were borderline “Capcom levels” of milking previously release games. I am talking about the Namco Museum line if anyone is wondering.
They even created a fully animated opening video giving Mr Driller’s history. While I am an animation fan, I prefer my animation to be the late 80’s early 90’s era. What is here is serviceable and gets the point across. I am not knocking it; it is just not my cup of tea. I am glad it was added.
Introducing Drill Land Amusement Park
Mr Driller Drillland on Nintendo Switch introduces the Drill Land amusement park. This park is located 500 meters underground. There are five attractions, each with their own unique rules, for players to challenge. At the end of each of those attractions awaits a boss that must be defeated as well.
There will also be a multiplayer mode. This mode will allow up to four players to race to the finish. If you are not competitive then you can also partake in the “Casual Mode” which is just a leisurely stroll through the park.
Alright Mr Driller fans, if you want it, it is coming. It is time to show some support, so you get more games like this.
