Oh Sega. You just announced Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX and it is great looking. Earlier this month you announced the mini Game Gear which was not well received at all. Sega fans know this feeling well as they have felt it for decades now. There is a tangible flip flop feeling with Sega – good/bad that plagues the company. Let’s discuss the trailer here – others have covered the bad of Sega elsewhere. What a beautiful game this is already.

Reviving classics is popular

Wonder Boy the Dragon’s Trap was a hit. Streets of Rage 4 was a hit. You get the idea. Reviving classic games and franchises is popular right now. Sega is sitting on a metric ton of great games and franchises that need reviving. Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX shows they are open to this.

I am excited about this game, judging by the response of fans, I am not alone.

It is clear that this game is in good hands. It looks like Merge Games and Jankenteam are behind this remake.

The animation on show is fluid, enemies are varied, and the action is fast. Just like it was originally. Well, animation back on the Sega Master System was as good as it needed to be.

Fans can switch graphics on the fly too. This was an option in Wonder Boy the Dragon’s Trap too. It is a cool effect and awesome to see included here.
