Epic Game Store is the latest point of complaints by fans that buy digital only games. One thing that Epic is doing to ease the pain, or reel in more users however you want to look at it, is to give away games regularly. These are free to you, free to keep and play, yours. The latest game in this growing list of free titles is Ubisoft’s Rayman Legends, the fifth game in the popular Rayman franchise.
What is unique about Rayman Legends
First, in today’s world, 2D side scrolling action games are a rarity. This is especially true for “big studio” releases as most companies have given up on this genre.
Another thing, Rayman Legends brings back the four-player simultaneous gameplay that was prevalent in the previous title, Rayman Origins.
Hardware requirements
Anyone that has played computer games a lot knows that there is no standard computer platform like console gamers enjoy. That means tons of configurations and whatnot to deal with. Rayman Legends has decent specs that most reading this will be able to hit unless you are gaming on a Walmart special.
According to our friends over at Neowin.net the specs are as follows:
- OS:Windows XP SP3 or Windows Vista SP2 or Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8 (both 32/64bit versions)
- Processor: Intel Pentium IV @ 3.0 GHz or AMD Athlon64 3000 + @ 1.8 GHz
- Memory: 2 GB RAM
- Graphics:nVidia GeForce 6800GT or AMD Radeon X1950 Pro (256MB VRAM with Shader Model 3.0 or higher) or higher (512MB VRAM with Shader Model 4.0)
- Storage:6 GB available space
- Sound Card: DirectX Compatible Sound Card with latest drivers
- Additional Notes: Windows-compatible keyboard and mouse required, optional Microsoft XBOX360 controller or compatible
Don’t diddle daddle, time is not on your side
Epic Game Store will have Rayman Legends available for free until December 6th. That doesn’t leave a lot of time to decide if you want a free game or not. Even if you are dead set against the Epic Game Store free is free.
If you prefer physical editions then check out eBay or Amazon for deals on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, or PlayStation 4 versions.
