What this mini console is

The Sega Genesis Mini is Sega’s first official entry in the “mini” console market that Nintendo created with the Nintendo NES Classic Mini. These are all-in-one consoles that are smaller than their name sakes. They are also created in such a way to be very much like the original release in look, if not functionality (mini consoles do not offer working cartridge slots for instance).

While there have been Sega Genesis re-releases in the past, those have been outsourced to less than stellar companies that have often outsourced the actual hardware making to, again, less than stellar companies. See how this goes bad quick for fans?

The Sega Genesis Mini is the first official Sega mini console and has given hope that we will see more later. Maybe even a Saturn or Sega Dreamcast Mini someday.

Darius is a brand new port developed specifically for the Sega Genesis Mini while Tetris was originally recalled due to legal issues back in the day.
