The 8 and 16-bit days were quite a time to be a gamer, especially if you were also a fan of Disney movies and television shows. Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King, now available for pre-order, is set to update two of the more popular entries for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PCs (probably via Steam). This is not an HD remaster release, this is more of an update like Capcom did with their Disney Afternoon Collection release.
What fans can expect
Much like the Disney Afternoon Collection fans can enjoy Aladdin and The Lion King on their PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch or PC with new updates. Graphics filters, rewind function, cheats available at your fingertips, and more are going to be ready at the start.
Fans can also expect a curated museum they can enjoy. This will feature behind the scenes development items, interviews, etc. Quite a treat for fans that want to know more about how these games were developed.
Not all roses and gum drops
The Disney Classic Games release will feature these games:
Aladdin for the Sega Genesis and Nintendo Game Boy along with The Lion King for the Sega Genesis, Nintendo Game Boy, and Super Nintendo.
You maybe wondering, where is the Super Nintendo version of Aladdin. Considering Capcom did the honors with that version it stands to reason a deal has not been struck to bring it to this collection.
I have a feeling though, there may be a deal made before release so just stay calm.
Where to get it and when and how much
Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King is available via pre-order via the Best Buy website (others to follow). The cost is $29.99 with a projected release date of October 29th, 2019.
