Senile Team are not ones to rest on their laurels. They hit the ground running with some interesting releases years ago (Beats of Rage and then Rush Rush Rally Racing). Being a small team means projects take a little while to complete which is fine considering they have created a reputation for finishing projects (I am purposefully ignoring Age of the Beast here). Their latest project, Intrepid Izzy is a slight departure from their other releases.
Departure how?
First, it is an action adventure like Shantae. This means running and jumping, fighting, and some puzzle solving along the way. Nothing wrong with this, variety is the spice of life as they say. So far, Intrepid Izzy looks cool, check out the Sega Dreamcast screenshots I pulled from their Kickstarter.
Why bring Intrepid Izzy up now?
Because Senile Team released their May update on the successful Kickstarter page. Mainly showing off the new “East Pole” level, they also included a bit of information on the Sega Dreamcast entry.
There are more shots of the Sega Dreamcast version on their Kickstarter page so definitely head over there and check them out. What is shown off is quite interesting and makes me want to grab a copy when it releases (based on past releases by Senile Team we should see Intrepid Izzy in online stores).
Not just Sega Dreamcast
Intrepid Izzy is already slated to be hitting computers, probably via the Steam Store and PlayStation 4 (no PlayStation 3 or Xbox support at all). I guess it is a sign of the times that last generation consoles (of which there are millions of users still) get the short end of the deal like this.
I do wonder if, after almost two decades if independent developers will be supporting the Xbox 360/One and PlayStation 3/4 like they do the Sega Dreamcast? Only time will tell.
For now, though, check out the Intrepid Izzy Kickstarter updates page for more on this cool action game.
