It is a great time to be a fan of retro gaming. Classic compilations are picking up traction with various publishers, we have companies like Piko Interactive working to revive other classics, and we have special editions being made available. One such special edition is the 25th Anniversary release for Earthworm Jim, a two game on one Super Nintendo cartridge release by iam8bit.

Pre-orders for the special edition cartridge are now open and extremely limited. This run of “Udder Pink” and ultra-limited “Cow Print” are going to go quick. Before you go and think you can secure just the rarest Cow Print cartridge, you are in for a surprise. With only 100 copies of that cartridge being produced, there is no chance that anyone can guarantee they will get one. These special carts will be randomly mixed in with the other 1,900 Udder Pink cartridges and mailed out to those that order.
What do I get?
All buyers will receive a fold-out box with special embellishments, a cool instruction manual, “retro pack-in surprises” and more. Those 100 lucky people will also get that Cow Print cartridge. I can already imagine the eBay prices on that one and they aren’t cheap.

Did I forget to mention that this cartridge will work on your Super Nintendo console? There is no word on if it will work on clone platforms but surely it will. This is neat to know that 25 years after Earthworm Jim made his debut on the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis that we will see a new cartridge starring the powered-up worm. I just wish there was going to be improvements/added content to the cartridge and not just new shells and box.
