Capcom recently released the remake of the second Resident Evil game. In the short time that this remake has been available modders have been hard at work on the computer version creating mods and character edits that run the gamut from subtle to game changing. I collected a few of the better ones I am interested in and have them listed here.
First, lets start with the subtle, Claire Redfield gets true retro attire. Capcom offered a version of Claire’s outfit but it was missing minor details that hardcore fans simply could not live without. That is why we have a mod version of her original outfit that is much closer to what she wore in the original Resident Evil 2 game.
It is all the rage since it was first made public, the face mod. This mod adds a bit of hilarity to the scary situations you face in Resident Evil 2 Remake by over compensating the facial expressions. May or may not be your cup of tea but still funny.
This next one takes things a little more “retro” than just a costume/character swap. This mod adds fixed camera angles and “cinematic angles” that almost make the remake into a new game. If this mod doesn’t get you in the Resident Evil mood then I am not sure anything will. Check out those cinematic angles for some chilling scenes.
Someone brought some Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom to the Resident Evil 2 Remake party. No, seriously, someone did do a bit of modding to turn Capcom’s latest survival horror game into Dino Crisis. This is not a total conversion but a lot has been changed, including bringing Regina and Morton into the game along with some choice weapons. Still one to keep an eye on for fans of Dino Crisis.
Finally to end this list we have probably the most scary element you can add to your Resident Evil 2 Remake adventure. Ghost Sherry. This creature is a headless person, replacing Mr. X, that makes no noise as they move around the building. No warning they are there, no warning that they are still behind you. Nothing but genuine jump scares abound.
Know of a cool Resident Evil 2 Remake mod that I need to know about? Post it in the comments, use the contact us page, or leave a comment on social media where you see this. I try to check everything out and keep up on it.
