Resident Evil 2 Here is the 1-Shot Demo

Resident Evil 2 Remake Claire Redfield

Among the gaming titles most anticipated by old and new players of this early 2019 there is definitely Resident Evil 2, the fully revised version of the classic Capcom title coming in late January on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Before that, however, the Japanese software house has decided to release a very special demo. So check this out on this very original and out-of-the-box demo version.

The demo will be available for download only between January 11 and 31 for all three platforms on which the full game will also be available. This will give the fans the very first opportunity to try the classic horror game at home in its completely new look that offers various changes compared to the original, which was released 21 years ago (in 1998) on the very first Sony PlayStation.

The rightly named “1-Shot Demo” will test players by asking them to survive the horrors of Raccoon City for just 30 minutes. If players are able to complete the mission’s objective within this amount of time, they can still restart the mission and use what is left to explore the demo. In the event of death at the hands of the zombies, you can still continue to play until these 30 minutes have elapsed.

The end of the game session will reveal a brand new trailer, exclusive to those who play the demo. Although it will not be possible to replay it at the end of the time, the trailer will still be viewable as many times as you want. In this “1-Shot Demo” players will take the role of the rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy, who has just arrived at the Police Department in Raccoon City, in what appears to be the worst “first day of work” in history. Leon will have to survive fierce zombies and solve puzzles to find a safe way out of the station. With an entire building full of flesh-eating creatures lurking and Leon trying to escape as the timer runs, players will have to make sure they kill much more than just time.

Built with Capcom’s own RE graphics engine, Resident Evil 2 delivers stunning photorealistic images with up to 4K resolution on hardware capable of handling it, such as Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro, while a new, high-performance lighting system will bring the already well-known rooms and corridors of the Raccoon City Police Department to life everywhere.

Tsuyoshi Kanda, producer of the game for Capcom, explained in recent days that it was precisely the feedback from fans to convince the Japanese studio that the game deserved a remake. “Resident Evil 2 has always been a series favorite for many and we heard our fans loud and clear when they voiced their desire to see it remade/re-imagined on modern platforms. Big thanks to all the Resident Evil fans from around the world, as you really helped us show why this title had to be made. So we’ll be doing our best to give you an experience you’ll never forget.”
