Fade to Black Port Coming to Sega Dreamcast

Fade to Black Sega Dreamcast

Most gamers that owned a Sega Dreamcast back in the day probably loved the console and still do so today. It was just so elegant, other than those short controller cords. It was cool because it felt like Sega finally got their act together after screwing up the Saturn and cash grabbing with the Sega CD and Sega 32X prior to that. Sadly, Sega was unable to get support for the Dreamcast due to the Saturn fiasco. This meant no Working Designs, no Electronic Arts (trust me, 20 years ago they weren’t nearly as asinine as they are today), etc. The way the Dreamcast was designed though has left it open to fans to work with and release new games. That is exactly what JoshProd is doing with Fade to Black.

We only saw Fade to Black release on PC and the original PlayStation back in the day. It has been made clear that this port is from the superior PC version – makes sense considering the Sega Dreamcast is all but literally a lower powered Windows computer. Great news if you ask me.

Check out the video to see the Sega Dreamcast port in action.

Some changes we can expect from this port include VMU saving and a new menu system that makes use of the Dreamcast controller.
