Daemon 9 Creates FMV Horror Adventure

Daemon 9 Windows

Full Motion Video (FMV) games missed their calling in my opinion, at least back in the day, by not focusing on the horror genre. So many went for the drama or action angle (a few on 3DO went for comedy as well), angles that are not easy to achieve great results in. Horror FMV games have started coming out in the last half decade or so and for the most part, they have all been quite good. Daemon 9 looks to continue that trend with a new take on the horror FMV genre by mixing in some Her Story or Sara is Missing (both great games that make use of FMV) with some point and click adventure fun.

Daemon 9 tells the story of Morgan Shane who has gone missing. The Steam Store page asks the question, is she a monster or a victim of something sinister. Quite a wide range of options there I must say. Apparently a dark force has targeted her and is now coming for you. Finding Morgan is the only way to stop yourself from sharing the same fate with her.

The preview video that has been made available gives Daemon 9 quite a striking uniqueness over what else is available. The developers definitely have atmosphere down pat, that is for sure.

Daemon 9 will have you sifting through tons of information, watching video clips, solving puzzles, etc as you work your quest to find Morgan. Unlike Sara is Missing, Daemon 9 is designed for you to experience it on a computer so it appears that the developers have a little more freedom to spread their wings and give you more to do. In Sara is Missing you were pretty much tapping, waiting, tapping, and listening or watching a video then tapping, listening, tapping, and so on.

Fans of full motion video games and the horror genre, Daemon 9 seems to be one worth your time. I will be back with a full review sooner than later.

Here are links for Her Story (Android/Steam) and Sara is Missing (Android/PC).
