Who doesn’t love unreleased games? Well, I mean, once they are released that is. Legacy is one such title for the Commodore Amiga. If you are not sure what this Amiga game is, don’t worry, you are not alone. There was not a lot of information available prior to this game being released. What is sad is, this appears to have been a very good game that simply failed to be completed in time before something happened to keep it from getting to store shelves.
Legacy is a heavy metal infused 2D side scrolling action game that draws heavily from the dark and depraved side of gaming. Just look at the game play video for proof of this. There are some sadistic looking enemies to battle, or simply avoid, as you take on the trek across this dark and deadly land.
Originally planned for release in the 1990’s by Hexodus, Legacy simply did not make it out the door. There is no information on why it failed to be released and there is not a lot of information available on its development. This is one of those grey areas of gaming that no matter how hard we try, we cannot color in the full picture without help from someone intimately close to the project coming forward.
What strikes me about Legacy is the really detailed graphics. I know the Commodore Amiga is normally capable of great graphics but for some reason, they look better in this game than I normally remember. Maybe I am just missing 2D side scrolling action games?
I would provide a link directly to the game but since this being an unreleased game does not violate our policy here at Retro Gaming Magazine. Unfortunately, our policy on not supporting piracy is violated by other releases on the site that carries Legacy on their servers. Remember, Google is your friend.
