Any chance I can get to write about Shadow of the Colossus or Robowarrior is going to result in my writing another 300+ words on them. Just the way things are. Since there is no HD Robowarrior Remake I am aware of, it is time to focus on Shadow of the Colossus on the PlayStation 4 console. While everyone else is focusing on a comparison video between the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions, I have found one that shows off the original PlayStation 2 version as well.
Check out just how far Shadow of the Colossus has come. It is quite shocking to see the PlayStation 2 version and just how good it STILL looks. Sure, it cannot hold a candle to the PlayStation 4 version but it still has that timeless feel with the graphics.
The original Shadow of the Colossus was an amazing game, nothing like it was available. Nowadays, we have games that set gamers against super giant creatures on a regular basis and the whole “dark and dank” world theme has been hammered more times than nails in the average home. I fear the magic of Shadow of the Colossus is going to be lost on modern gamers and most of the sales will be the diehard fans that want the absolute best-looking version available. I guess, if you think about it, that is often the main reason for sales of these remakes anyhow.
If I ever purchase a PlayStation 4, I will probably grab a copy of Shadow of the Colossus as one of my first purchases. What do you think of the growth Shadow of the Colossus across the many PlayStation platforms? Me personally, I wish we had seen a Shadow of the Colossus port on either the PlayStation Vita or PlaytStation Portable.
