Who reading this remembers the original Shadow of the Colossus on PlayStation 2? I do. I chose Shadow of the Colossus over God of War back in the day and never regretted it. Now we are seeing news from the Tokyo Game Show concerning the remake that is in the works for the PlayStation 4 console. This looks amazing – too bad we won’t get something similar for the PS Vita. Anyhow, I am not here to bash Sony for letting the PS Vita die a slow horrible death. Instead, let’s check out those images and that video from the Tokyo Game Show. Shall we?
Shadow of the Colossus is coming to the PlayStation 4 sometime in 2018. This is the second time that gamers will have had a chance to experience the glory of taking down a giant monster, bigger than most bosses in other games, since the original PlayStation 2 version hit.
What is interesting about these pics is that they are so reminiscent of scenes from the original version. I understand this is a remake and most remakes stick close to the source material but I never expected it to look this good. Check out the video below for more proof of the graphical power of this remake.
Me personally I would have to move the PlayStation 4 up ahead of the Xbox One due to titles like Shadow of the Colossus. Microsoft needs to start trying or PlayStation 4 will continue pulling ahead. At this point, I cannot think of a game they could make that would go toe to toe with Shadow of the Colossus. This game is just awesome looking, hopefully the game play will keep up with the graphics.
