It’s always nice to see that our beloved computers and games consoles are still receiving no software after 30 years, and this time, it’s the ZX Spectum that has a new game. Left Behind has just been released and is the second game to enter the recently announced ZX DEV-Conversions programming competition.
The game is classic platform action which takes place over eight challenging levels. According to the game’s author, Dave Hughes (aka rtape), it is “loosely based” on the Andy Weir’s book The Martian. Coded using P.G.D., Dave managed to tweak the collision detection, add an intro, add a game over screen, add a congratulations screen, put in a define key options, and much more.
While the game has been entered into the ZX DEV-Conversions competition, Dave has mentioned that he plans to improving the game further in time. Left Behind can be downloaded for free in digital tape form (*.tap) from the Spectrum Computing website.
