Toejam and Earl: Back in the Groove Bringing the Funk to the Nintendo Switch

Toejam and Earl brought the funk to the Sega Genesis when they crash landed their spacecraft on Earth in 1991 and now they will be jammin’ on the one for Nintendo and its new Switch console.

Nintendo has announced that it will be releasing 60+ indie game titles for the Switch which will include Toejam and Earl: Back in the Groove. The game will be released sometime in 2017 and will be available for download via the Nintendo eShop.

Recently brought back to life with a little help from Adult Swim Games and a Kickstarter campaign, the Toejam and Earl franchise is known for its genre defying gameplay, humorous writing, and funk infused soundtrack. Currently, three installments of the game exist. Toejam and Earl (Genesis/PS3/Wii), Toejam and Earl in Panic on Funkotron (Genesis/PS3/Wii), and Toejam and Earl III: Mission to Earth (Original Xbox).

Brandon is a writer, tech guy, game collector, and sucks at video games. He still holds hope that Sega will release a new console and believes Nintendo peaked with the Super Gameboy. In his spare time, Brandon enjoys playing in his ManCade, listening to funk, and going game hunting on his Bonnie.
