Super Mario Run Planned Release Date for iOS

Super Mario Run

Nintendo announced back in September that Mario would be making his debut on Apple’s iOS platform and now we know when that will happen: Super Mario Run will debut on iOS on December 15, 2016.

Super Mario Run is a side-scrolling platform game much in the same mold as the classic Mario plaformers. However, here, Mario automatically runs from left to right across the screen with the player required to perform “stylish jumps and moves” by tapping the touchscreen at the right moment. The longer the player presses the touchscreen, the higher Mario will jump.

Being just like classic Mario, the player is also tasked with negotiating platforms, holes, enemies, and, of course, collecting coins. The main mission for the player is to achieve all this within the level in the fastest possible time.

The game comes with three Modes: World Tour, Toad Rally, and Kingdom Builder. World Tour has Mario out to rescue Princess Peach from the evil Bowser, Toad Rally lets the player display their “stylish moves” with the ability to compete against friends around the world, and Kingdom Builder lets the player use coins to build their very own kingdom.

Super Mario Run will be available on Apple’s App Store as a free-to-play download, but with limited “demo style” access. The game will be unlocked with full access with a payment of $9.99. But, in the meantime, you can check out the Super Marion Run website.
