Remember those old cartoons from the early days of cinema? Mickey Mouse, Betty Boop, etc? Yea, those classics that have that amazingly smooth animation to them. Well, Cuphead is essentially that but in a game that you are controlling. What is even better is, this is a run and gun game similar to Gunstar Heroes on the Sega Genesis, or Contra on just about everything from the NES to the Playstation and Xbox consoles.
The animation is amazing in Cuphead. This is literally the 1930’s cartoons most people loved but in game form. Check out the video below for proof.
Run and gun fans will be right at home with Cuphead. The action is reportedly set on tough, right where retro gaming fans want it. To say we don’t get many like this is quite the understatement as we have never gotten anything like this.
The setting for Cuphead is about on par for the visuals. You are required to do the work of the Devil after losing to him in a game of chance – who thinks they will ever win against that guy? He cheats at every turn, I mean, seriously, don’t play any games with him. Equipped with finger guns you take on the world around you. The inhabitants are fighting to stop you so does that technically make you the bad guy?
In two player mode you can play as either Cuphead or Mugman, brothers, in their plight to do the bidding of the devil. Seriously, why don’t we get more like this? Look, if you are like me and want to see more insanely awesome detailed animated tour de forces like this then we have to step up and support those companies developing them and publishing them.

When I saw this in action during PAX East it blew my mind with its style. I seriously cannot wait to get my hands on this.
I am a new fan of this game- I was not aware of it before just having found out about it.
Love the character design, but I hope there’ll be an easy mode. This game is kinda hard.
Also intersting fact : The developer also planned to make the SEGA Master System of this game after the X1/PC’s version is done.

I was not aware of this possible port. That would be amazing to see if they could do it and how it would look. I mean, I can see it rocking on the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo but being on the SMS or something could be some great PR if it ever materializes.
Thanks for the tip!
