We have been working on covering more of these Kickstarter games as our fans have shown great support for them. One such campaign that has caught our attention was Adventure Pals, a family friendly action game coming to Windows, Xbox One, Macintosh and Linux computers.
“It means so much to us that we’ve reached our funding goal. We can’t wait to get back into the development of the game and show off all new content with you,” said Massive Monster.
In Adventure Pals you control a young boy who is out to rescue his father. The bad guy, Mr. B, has kidnapped your dad and is working on turning Papa into a hotdog. You are not alone in your quest though as you have Sparkles the giraffe and your pet rock alongside you in this adventure.
There are reportedly over 10 hours of gameplay, hundreds of enemies and obstacles looking to thwart you and it all runs at 60 frames per second in 1080p. The computer versions (Macintosh, Linux and Windows vis Steam) will support game pads so connect that Playstation 4 or Xbox One controller to your computer and play Adventure Pals the way it was meant to be played.
There will be five different areas to explore with about 25 levels bosses and towns to traverse. Shops and mini games will be available to eat up some time. That buy and sell process and comparing equipment can almost be a mini game in itself in these types of games.
Fans of 2D side scrolling action adventure games in the style of Super Mario World 1 and 2 should definitely check out Adventure Pals. There is a lot of charm here. Over on their Kickstarter page is a demo of the game to try out.
