The Wisdom Tree Arkade is one of the latest Kickstarter success stories.  While there were many naysayers about this particular crowdfunding campaign, it was successfully funded on August 14^th (my birthday).  For Christian gamers this is a great way to have the complete Nintendo Entertainment System set of Wisdom Tree games.  The campaign catered to more than just fans of Plug and Play devices with many options to show support.

Wisdom Tree have been confident in their past works and took things one step farther.  Rather than attempting to launch a Christian based gaming console they have instead focused on bringing their past works in one single complete compilation.  By utilizing Plug and Play technologies – such as the Nintendo NES on a chip – Wisdom Tree was able to lower costs and complete this project for much less than that of similar attempts at crowdfunding.

Around the middle of the campaign additional backer rewards were made available that helped push the campaign closer to minimum funding.  It is interesting to note that the highest priced backer rewards are also the first to sell out- there are going to be ten VERY happy collectors out there.  No Nintendo Entertainment System collection will be complete without one of those coveted gold carts that were only made available during this Kickstarter campaign.  Good luck getting one off of a backer on Ebay at a decent price.

The Wisdom Tree Arkade features a very familiar controller design for retro gamers.  Some cosmetic changes were made prior to the ending of the campaign.  These changes were only to the overlays and are apparently not going to effect the final comfortable design that we are familiar with already.
