Snake World Review Android ZTE ZMAX 2

How do you update a classic like Snake?  I mean, this is one of those iconic games that is hard to expand on without losing the charm of its simplicity.  Wambo Ing. have done a fine job in expanding on the classic and taking it to the third dimension on Android.

First, you are greeted by a single jointed snake that is decently modeled.  It is a snake, that is all that matters because it looks like a snake and acts like a snake might.  Tapping on the left or right side of the screen makes your snake turn that direction.  He does not turn on a 90 degree angle but rather angles himself the direction you push.  Keep eating fruits and a new joint is added to your snake.

Sounds dirt simple, right?  Snake World is anything but simple.  The challenge is in the fact that you are on a tiny planet floating in space.  This means as you consume more and more fruit you are eventually going to come to a point where you are not going to be able to avoid hitting yourself.  If you touch yourself (not like the Divinyls) then it is immediate death.  However many fruit you consume is your score- how high can you get it?

Taking a classic such as Snake and updating it for modern gamers can be quite tricky.  Snake World does that while keeping the original intent intact and also ups the challenge level considerably over what we saw in other updates to this classic.  The other thing that Snake World does well is not making things feel cheap when they upped the challenge level.  Definitely a game worth at least downloading and trying out on your phone.  If you have a GPD XD (reviewed over on Gravis Ludus) you can map left and right controller pushes to the corresponding side of the screen and then you can play with physical controls.  Simple but still cool.  Comment below with you high scores.  The winner might win a prize.
