The Wisdom Tree Arkade on Kickstarter has met their goal for minimum funding a day or two ago. Now they are onto the stretch goals of their project. The latest update, number six, has been announced and with it the Kickstarter backer rewards are adjusted and a new one added. Sega Genesis fans will be happy with this news.
Update number six adds more information on the $75,000 goal. This would upgrade the Wisdom Tree Arkade to a 16-Bit Sega Genesis on a chip design. Adding even more value to this reward Wisdom Tree would make the games included on the Arkade at this level the Sega Genesis versions that feature improved sound and graphics over the NES versions.
There is now a $30,000 goal added. If they are able to reach this goal then Wisdom Tree will port Super Noah’s Ark to Sega Genesis. Anyone that has been a fan of the Sega Genesis for any real amount of time will understand that the Genesis is not known for doing good first person view games. For some reason developers simply did not take the time to work out how to do it on the Sega 16-Bit console. Some did though. We have seen a handful of first person shooters released for the Sega.
If Wisdom Tree are able to reach their goal of $30,000 in funding they will add one more title to that short list of First Person Shooters on the Sega Genesis by porting Super Noah’s Ark 3D. There is a video of the work in progress above.
If you have not pledged support for the Wisdom Tree Arkade Plug and Play yet, then what are you waiting for? This is your chance to help bring a new Sega Genesis game to market, a FPS at that.
Head over to Kickstarter to check out the details and possibly drop a few bucks to support family friendly games.
