Retro City Rampage is one of those modern games that attempts to rip off the classic “retro” look. It is intentionally developed using minimalistic graphics and sound/music. A lot of developers feel this is the route to take to make their game stand out. Unfortunately, a lot of developers are forgetting to make their games fun. Retro City Rampage DX is just the latest in updated versions of Retro City Rampage and it is hitting a retro platform for the first time.
Retro City Rampage is now available on the Playstation Portable platform. For many of our readers they may have forgotten the Sony PSP hand held in favor of the PS Vita or Nintendo 3DS or even an Android or iOS device. It is nice to see some developers remember the Sony Playstation Portable and are willing to take a chance on releasing more games for it.
What you are going to get in Retro City Rampage DX is a remastered version of the original story, arcade mode and tons of other little things. How does an 8-Bit inspired open world action game sound? What about 60 story missions and 40 arcade challenges to take on? Like weapons? Retro City Rampage DX has 25 of them along with 50 vehicles to steal and equip as you take on the 8-Bit world laid out before you. Some of the characters you can play in the Sony Playstation Portable version of Retro City Rampage include Meat Boy (Super Meat Boy), CommanderVideo (?) and Steve from Minecraft.
