DotEmu Android Retro Gaming Sale

DotEmu are a publisher gamers should pay special attention to.  They are similar to Piko Interactive in the way they rescue classics and bring them to modern platforms.  They primarily are known for doing this with the Android and iPhone platforms while Piko sticks with physical cartridge platforms and Steam.  Anyhow, DotEmu are having a nice retro gaming sale right now, one that fans of some classics won’t want to miss.

I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream is normally $3.99, now $1.99
Another World: 20th Anniversary Edition is normally $3.99, now $1.99
Sanitarium is normally $3.99, now $1.99
The Last Express is normally $4.99, now $1.99
Little Big Adventure is normally $4.99, now $2.99

Let’s break those down a bit for those that don’t know what they are.  I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream is a point and click adventure game that was updated with new graphics and sounds.  If you want to enjoy a King’s Quest style game with a darker theme, here you go.

Another World: 20th Anniversary Edition is an updated version of the classic 2D side scrolling, extremely well animated, adventure game.  Originally hitting computers, Super Nintendo then Sega Genesis/Sega CD, Another World struck a chord with gamers that played it back in the day.  In North America we know this game as Out of this World.

Sanitarium is another point and click adventure, similar to I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream.  The difference is, in comparison Sanitarium just goes sickly dark with some of the content.  Easily shaken gamers will probably want to steer clear of this one.

The Last Express is another adventure title that features stylized animation that still holds up quite well today.

Little Big Adventure is an isometric action adventure title that was praised back in the day for its use of graphics that were created in a unique way.  It is hard to describe but holds up nicely.

There you go folks, several great games that can be had for less than $20 and provide more than a weekend’s worth of fun.
