NGDEVTEAM have released an updated video for their game, Kraut Buster.  For those that do not know about this game yet, it is a run and gun title for the Neo Geo hardware.  According to NGDEVTEAM’s latest update on their site, it could be their last project of this scale.  What a sendoff if it is their last Neo Geo title.  There are rumors they have something else in the works and doing Neo Geo titles is just not in the cards anymore.

The rumors are that they are working on their own arcade hardware.  Whether it is more powerful than Neo Geo or not is unknown.  Surely they would not attempt to release a platform that is less.  Now back to Kraut Buster.

In all honesty, Kraut Buster looks like a spiritual successor to something like Cyber Lip, an early Neo Geo run and gun title.  Things blow up, nicely, enemies don’t just flicker off the screen and there is stuff going on all over the place.  Enemies have a brief explosion of blood and some explode with body parts littering the ground before they fade out.  It is the attention to detail that sets these games apart.

As can be seen in the updated video there is a nod to the Alien movie.  The one where Ripley uses the loader machine.  Pretty cool that they are including a huge machine like that and making it playable, not just a boss.

According to NGDEVTEAM there is no hard release date for Kraut Buster.  Just that it is possibly coming in first quarter of 2017.  That is a loose release window too.
