Okay, it is probably nothing new to many reading this that there is a new Sega Dreamcast game coming.  What if I added in that it is also hitting Steam?  Still nothing too exciting?  What about also coming to the original Playstation console?  Got your interest piqued yet?  Thought that would. Zia Goddesses of Magic is coming to those three platforms soon.

The style of Zia Goddesses of Magic is definitely smack dab in the 16-Bit era of gaming. This is good news as the Playstation can run it pretty well without having to resort to major graphical changes.  I know the Playstation console is powerful enough to handle more, it is not powerful enough to handle something on par with upper echelon Dreamcast or Steam stuff though.  In this game, the Playstation is the lowest common denominator.

Zia Goddesses of Magic is an Orion release.  If you are not familiar with them, they did Philia and Elansar (we covered the Atari Jaguar releases).  They also did Alice’s Mom’s Rescue.  This is their first time taking on a full length role playing game though.  Due in September, they should be quite a bit far along with it (about three or four months left).

The story from their site:

In a fantasy world, where the goddesses of magic are the guardians of the good,
A powerful evil demon captures all the goddesses and jail them in different places where they cannot use their magic spells.
Evil creatures starts populating the surrounding villages and threatens the villagers.

Zia is a little girl who grows in a mountain village with her beloving parents.
One day, she discover a book of magic and start training to learn how to use magic spells.

During her journey, Zia will find out about the imprisoned goddesses, and will try to free them from the evil creatures using the magic spells she will learn.

Join Zia in a Journey around this mystic world, help her find the imprisoned goddesses and try to free them from the evil creatures !

Who is ready for this?  I wonder if the PSOne version will be available for digital download after purchase for fans that play on a modded PSP/Vita?
