Video game fans are a lively bunch. Just when you think there is not a lot left to do, they come up with something new. We have a lot of readers in Russian speaking territories as well as French. That is why from time to time we do these articles for those readers. I am not sure if Star Fox was ever officially released in Russia, doesn’t matter as fans have made a patch available doing just that.
Those of you reading this that have the necessary hardware, and speak/read Russian, will be happy with this news. From the title screen to various bits of text scattered throughout it has all been translated into Russian. While there was not exactly a lot of text in the first place, Star Fox did have some key things such as planet names are now in Russian.
The on rails space shooting anamorphic characters presumably still have all of their charm, regardless of the language. Star Fox was never about the text anyhow so the quality of the actual game is not changed.
Head over to ROMHacking.net to grab the patch. We cannot link to the actual game ROM because Nintendo has not released Star Fox into the public domain.
