Ant-gravity Tiny’s Adventure 2D Gaming Coming to Windows, Macintosh and Linux via Steam

It is quickly becoming true that the modern personal computer is the platform of choice if you are a fan of 2D gaming.  Ant-gravity Tiny’s Adventure proves that there are still indie developers that remember that fun doesn’t require 3D and guns, or online multiplayer.  The interesting, grab your attention, thing about Ant-gravity is that it uses four way rotation (man I remember when rotation was special) of the gameplay field.  This mechanism allows you to avoid enemies, traps and reach treasure in all new ways.  Rather interesting.

The plan is for Ant-gravity to feature five different worlds, each comprised of 10 to 15 levels each.  That gives fans about 50 to 75 levels total- on par with what we used to get in the 16-bit days of gaming.  SharkByteStudio are creating an all new action adventure that looks a lot like an early Playstation One/Sega Saturn game- slightly more complex than what the Super Nintendo could do.  For fans of the genre there is on big difference in Ant-gravity than the classics of yesterday- you are avoiding enemies rather than jumping on them and removing them.  Touching an enemy in Ant-gravity will result in taking damage which could be something retrogaming fans will have to adjust for.  It is not a deal breaker in the early access demo that was made available.

There will be support for external controllers such as the Xbox 360 and Playstation controllers and will feature an on screen button layout option.  This is the biggest problem with retro style PC games, too many forget that part of the allure of retro gaming is the controller.  Thankfully SharkByte are including controller support.  Good job.

Ant-gravity is a work in progress and is improving so jump over on the Steam Greenlight page and let SharkByteStudio know what you think.  This is your chance to help shape a new and interesting game versus just taking what developers think you want and being done with it.
