Nintendo has never really been all that keen on the idea of actually killing, I mean completely obviously utterly ending the life of, characters in their games. Sure, in Super Mario Bros and the sequels you dispatch the enemy characters in cartoony ways. Even in the Smash Bros series, a fighting game by Nintendo, they avoid any real semblance of destruction to other characters. That is until now. What if there were fatalities in Smash Bros? What if, indeed.
Dorkly have asked, and answered, this very same question. The results are quite entertaining and some are just disgusting junior high humor. All in all, they are interesting and they beg the question of what other characters would use as their fatalities? Check the video out below for a glimpse into this, darker, world of Nintendo.
First up, we have Sonic, from Sega fame. Sonic uses his patented spin dash move to cut Yoshi in half. A Koopa Troopa turtle hatches from the egg within Yoshi. He is apparently cut in half too making this a double fatality. Nothing too gross here. We have seen characters cut in half since the early days of Mortal Kombat.
Next we have Ash from Pokemon taking on Luigi. Ash uses a Pokeball to capture Luigi, then he smashes it to pieces (with Luigi inside). Luigi breaks free but it is not pretty considering he is now smashed into bits and pieces.
Poor Luigi is the subject of the next fatality, this time from Samus dressed in the Metroid suit. Samus pulls off her helmet and acts like she is going to kiss Luigi (who is quite receptive to this). Instead, a Metroid comes from off screen and eats Luigi’s head. Poor guy, at least he died with a smile on his face.
Last, but not least, is the last one you would think to see in this type of video. It is also the grossest. Dr. Mario ends Link by shoving a bottle of pills into Link’s mouth which causes Link to convulse and vomit blood. Not only that but Link leaps over Dr. Mario and has one last shot of diarrhea before dying. As I said, junior high school humor here at its finest.
I am not sure if Dorkly will produce another of these videos, though if this one is popular enough they surely will.
