Breaking news, Collectorvision are working on a new Nintendo Entertainment System racing title. This new, unnamed, racing title carries an aura that screams Top Gear (Super Nintendo) or Lotus Turbo Challenge (Sega Genesis) but that is probably due to the styling on the back end of the cars in the screens that we have seen so far. Read on and tell us what you think this unnamed racing game should be called.
Both Jean-Francois Dupuis (owner of Collectorvision) and John Lester (Gamester81, lead of public relations for Collectorvision) are sharing the same photo of this new unnamed racing game in action. Since both are stating this is going to be a Nintendo Entertainment System game we have to take it at face value that this screenshot is of that version.
Inspiration for this unnamed racing title has been noted by Jean-Francois as coming from Rad Racer, Top Gear and Lotus Turbo Challenge. The similarities between those games and this new title could simply be coincidence (there are only so many variations to the look of the back of a car).
Apparently this title was originally a Colecovision title that was changed over to the Nintendo NES during the early days of development. Jean-Francois promises that this racing title will feature new age, cool, music and that there is at least one big surprise coming closer to the official release. Considering Collectorvisions track record, I have to trust in Jean-Francois and his teams’ abilities.
The Nintendo Entertainment System has been getting in our news feed a little more lately, not as much as Collectorvision but still, it is there. We will follow the development of this new unnamed racing game closely since we don’t see many of these come out. One of the last notable ones was Rush Rush Rally Racing from Senile Team for the Sega Dreamcast and that has been more than half a decade ago. This new unnamed racing title is surely to be a break for retrogaming fans from the plethora of scrolling shooters that we saw for a long time in the homebrew scene.
What do you think the name of this unnamed racing title should be? Tell us in the comments below.
