We have written about the Mega Man statue, at least his helmet, a while back. Based on the response that has gotten, there are a lot of collectors out there interested in these types of things. With that in mind, we bring you news of a Sonic the Hedgehog statue based on one of the early Sonic games. This thing is quite dazzling to say the least. The attention to detail is great and the source choice is great.
This statue for Sonic, and Tails since he is in the plane, is based on the (spoilers) final sections of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on the Sega Genesis. This is the second piece in the Sonic Generations Diorama series by First 4 Figures, the first piece recreates an iconic scene from Sonic Adventure 2. Both pieces are extremely detailed and capture the essence of the source material in fantastic ways.
First 4 Figures uses polystone which is hand painted by people that love gaming- colors are correct, shading is used right and this statue will pull at the nostalgia strings. Hard. Collectors that are thinking about grabbing this Sonic statue should know that the bi-plane, “The Tornado”, is connected to the base via a pivot point that allows some adjustment. In other words, First 4 Figures understands each collector may have a unique take on the scene presented.
Additionally, according to First 4 Figures, if you authenticated the first piece in this series you can get the same number for this piece. There will only be 1,000 statues created for the whole world. That is not a lot of statues to go around for Sonic the Hedgehog fans so get your order in now. There are pre-order options with easy payment plans that would make QVC do a double take.
