We covered Justice Beaver by Collectorvision a short while back (here) and during that time, there have been some major changes. First, the IndieGoGo campaign is sitting at ¾ funded with about 11 days left for anyone that has not backed it but would like to. Now, onto the fun stuff, the new screens and video of Justice Beaver are available after the jump.
The only screens we have seen of the new updated version of Justice Beaver are of the ice level, there are going to be others so don’t worry. These screens are dispersed throughout this article. Gamester81 has released a video detailing the new features, what to expect and even a good chunk of gameplay footage comparing the old Justice Beaver to the new, updated, version. That video is below.
As you can see in the video, the original Justice Beaver was slow and kind of clunky. That is probably due to Collectorvision working off of the engine that was available for another title, Rick Dangerous, that they were planning to release. Ubi Soft, the current owners of that license are not interested in reviving that franchise at this time so Collectorvision are left with only one choice- rework their planned game into something new.
Justice Beaver is a 2D side scrolling action platform title starring a beaver who knows how to handle a gun. That is the gist of the gameplay we have seen so far from Collectorvision.
With the new update, as seen in the video, though we can see that Justice Beaver is much smoother- though a little “speedy” like Sonic’s gameplay. Judging by the video though, Justice Beaver is coming along nicely showing signs of great improvement already. With the right playtesting and tweaking Justice Beaver could be a classic title in the making.
