Okay we have seen, over the years, people put whole personal computers inside of a NES console but never a whole NES into a miniature car. Not just any car though, but the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 station wagon. The cool thing about this mod is that the creator even went as far as modding the controller and the lights on the car to light up when the console is powered on.
This modification is by Ultimate Customs who used a Hot Wheels Ghostbusters ECTO-1 die-cast car and the RetroBit system for the innards. This is not using an actual Nintendo, which would have been even cooler. This is probably to be expected though, considering the size of the NES motherboard, it would simply not fit into this chassis.
Ultimate Customs have not only simply put the RetroBit into the Ghostbusters ECTO-1 car but also done some power modifications. The lights on the ECTO-1 light up, so do the buttons on the controller, when the system is powered on. This is really cool considering the color of the buttons on the controller.
The controller features green translucent buttons and cross pad along with a custom paint job featuring the Ghostbusters logo. This is not a simple paint and post job, this is a quality work through and through.
Controllers are plugged into the back passenger door on the driver’s side while cartridges are plugged into the top of the car.
As of this writing, the Ghostbusters ECTO-1 Nintendo NES is sitting at just over $600. This is not something that is going to be cheap to add to your collection but it is certainly something that will get people talking.
