Vector graphics are interesting, there was a console dedicated to them in the early 80s and recently there has been a resurgence of them in gaming. One such new title that uses this unique graphical style is Vektor Prix by djoslin. Vector graphics fans will be happy to see this game in action- it is quite unique. Oh, it is currently on Steam Greenlight looking for votes.
Vektor Prix is not just your run of the mill racing game, no, here you are facing a full on group of other racers that are armed. You are armed too but it is the rest of the pack that you have to worry about in this overhead racing game. Kind of a cross between Death Race and Twisted Metal, Vektor Prix is going to have you blasting opponents as often as you are trying to pass them on the track.
Vektor Prix is a vector based game so don’t expect any super detailed graphics like you would get on the PS4 or Xbox One. For those not familiar with vector graphics, you are getting the outline of the cares, buildings, etc. This is a very unique graphical style that was most recently used to display Quake on an oscilloscope.
The game world is 3D, buildings twist and sway onscreen based on the viewing angle, they are static in the game world but not how they look. Check the video out for a sample of this 3D effect.
Much like other racing games you win races to advance to the next race. Come in first in enough races and you open new circuits that feature boss races, more opponents and weapons and, of course, more challenges to complete. There is also multiplayer capabilities in Vektor Prix so you can take on friends and strangers all over the world.
Vektor Prix is currently on Steam Greenlight, check it out and vote if it is something would like to see on Steam.
