Ever since Nintendo has been in the portable gaming market there has been a sizable demand for the popular titles from their current consoles to appear in “bite size” form. As time went on and Nintendo’s back library grew, demand slowly grew for older titles to be released on newer consoles and whatever the current Nintendo portable was. Fans, especially those of the Zelda franchise persuasion, get ready to be extremely happy because The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is coming to the Nintendo 3DS. Officially. Not a fan creation but officially from Nintendo. To add to the fun, it is going to be a remake of the Nintendo 64 game, not a direct port with little to no updates (hint hint, Sega).
Nintendo has hinted at there being a Nintendo 3DS version of Majora’s Mask for a little while now, as far back as E3 this year as mentioned by Eiji Aonuma. This is teasing has paid off as the game will be remade for the popular Nintendo hand held. Fans rejoice.
Just for fun, check out the early episodes of Geek Lazer for some discussion on the darker side of Majora’s Mask.
The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask for Nintendo 3DS will be available sometime this spring.
