New Game: Traumerin Brings Game Boy Style Graphics to the Forefront

If you are a huge fan of the Game Boy then you will definitely be interested in Traumerin from VelvetAntStudios. Traumerin is a 2D side scrolling action platforming role playing game, of sorts. Graphically, Traumerin is in the same vein as the original black and white Game Boy that Nintendo released in 1989, though some liberties were taken to improve on the art style.

Traumerin Game Boy Retro Action Platform RPG PC WindowsThere are over 20 levels spread across 4 unique worlds for you to traverse in your gaming quest. Traumerin is not going to be a one night and it is over challenge by any means. What sets Traumerin apart from other action platform titles is the way you dispatch the enemies. Running through the level and encountering enemies just like every other action game is present in Traumerin- you jump and land on their heads. The difference is, when you land on their heads you are transported to a turn based battle scene.

The battles in Traumerin are akin to those featured in most turn based role playing games. You make your move and your enemy makes theirs. Why this is unique is that this is the first time that this battle system has been implemented in an action title. It is different and unique which works in Traumerin’s favor.

Traumerin is available for purchase, Indie Retro News has the link.
