I remember the fervor that built up around the Resident Evil series, not once but twice, over the years. The first time was the release of the original game on Playstation- magazines such as Gamefan and Electronic Gaming Monthly were covering it like crazy showing pics from early builds and following the story. Gamers reciprocated this coverage with a lot of letters and interest, and later sales upon release. The second time there was a ton of interest in the Resident Evil games came when Capcom announced they would be re-releasing the original game in a new updated style on the Nintendo Gamecube. Sadly, gamers didn’t get this same attention to remakes for the rest of the games, including the fan favorite Resident Evil 2. Now, another set of fans are taking it upon themselves to remedy that problem.
A new remake artist, Rod Lima, has taken it upon himself to remake Resident Evil 2 using the Unreal Engine. This sequel has seen the remake and port action in the past but never like what Rod is working on creating. There are some remake freedoms being taken with this version, particularly adding co-op and some 3rd Person over the shoulder like Resident Evil 4 style action scenes.
