Everyone knows the Amiga CD32 was kind of the black sheep of gaming, much like the 3DO Interactive Multiplayer, and there weren’t a lot o games released for it. Decades later game hackers have been working on unoficial ports of Amiga games. For those that do not know, the CD32 is basically an Amiga 1200 minus keyboard, mouse and monitor (the CD32 hooked up to your television). One new release is the last Alien Breed game to grace the Amiga platorm, Alien Breed 3D 2- The Killing Ground.
The Killing Ground is a first person shooter, remember this was originally released in 1996 at the height of the new FPS genre’s frenzy. Everyone that had, even, a half decent FPS engine was making a game in this genre. Team 17 were no different, though they at least did it with a semi popular series versus starting completely from scratch.
The version that has been ported is the 2 megabyte version (Team 17 released a “high resolution” version along with this one). There are some problems with this port though, there is no option to save (though many saves throughout the game are available) and it runs somewhat slow.
