Gauntlet originally hit arcades in 1985 thanks to Atari (but not the home console one) and has seen release on many consoles, hand helds and computers over the years. Sadly, in recent years we have not been lucky enough to get a Gauntlet game though the Diablo series really hearkened back to those days of rampaging around dungeons it was just not the same. WB Games is looking to change that later this month.

Fans know that it is not a Gauntlet game without the four player aspect. No worries there, this remake is going to have four player capabilities with online, or local, options. The classic characters- Warrior, Valkyrie, Elf and Wizard will return to take on the creatures standing in your way in gloriously updated graphics.

Gauntlet doesn’t seem to have the same over the top detailed graphics of Diablo 3, though fans will notice the “feel” is quite similar to the classics. There are all new powers that your characters can unlock (as evidenced in the trailor below) such as freezing enemies and calling forth a tornado.
