It is not often that we see a game on Kickstarter that is intending to give profits of the finished game to charity (Child’s Play). That is exactly what is going to happen with Super Galaxy Squadron which has reached the minimum funding level, they are now going for stretch goals which means more platforms. Super Galaxy Squadron should be on your radar if you loved overhead scrolling shooters like Tiger Heli, Space Megaforce, the Raiden series or Mig 2D: Retro Shooter.
According to the Kickstarter page, Super Galaxy Squadron will offer challenges to all skill level of player without offending many on either end of the experience scale. How this will be attained is not explained on the Kickstarter page. What is explained is that the game will be available sometime this Winter for about $5 and proceeds from the game sales will goto Child’s Play.
Super Galaxy Squadron is also on Steam Greenlight and there is a demo available. Head over to Indie Retro News for those.
