The Nintendo Entertainment system is continuing to prove it is quite the workhorse of gaming consoles. There are many homebrew/independent releases available and many more coming. One such title that is on the way is The Mad Wizard: A Candelabra Chronicle which pulls inspiration from titles such as Solomon’s Key and other classic NES titles.
Featuring over 120 screens that must be traversed, Mad Wizard is going to offer plenty of challenge to anyone that plays it. There are some interesting play mechanics at work here. Instead of jumping, you use your magical powers to float/hover. You can also teleport left and right across casms, create stepping stone blocks and even a magical bridge just to name a few.
Mad Wizard: A Candelabra Chronicle is a Sly Dog Studios production. We covered another of their titles awhile back called Candelabra: Estoscerro, another NES title but this time a role playing game.
