Capcom has tried to reboot the Bionic Commando on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC to mixed results. Some enterprising fans have taken the grappling play mechanic and made a new game around it called Grapple Force Rena.
Tim Jenkins, the main person behind Grapple Force Rena is currently looking for a modest amount of money on Kickstarter (they are already past the halfway mark). Where Grapple Force Rena separates itself from the Bionic Commando clone world (it is rather small) is by allowing you to use the grapple arm to grab, and throw, your enemies.
Another cool thing about Grapple Force Rena is that there are regular “webisodes” being released that feature challenges and new levels. This occurs at least once every two weeks so there is always some fresh content available. Definitely an interesting way of keeping interest up for Grapple Force Rena.
