This is one of those “um should we care” releases. Primal Rage was not known for being a great fighting game but it is cool that the sequel (which never got released) is now avaiable to gamers to enjoy. The only stickler here is that you must be able to hit The Galloping Ghost Arcade in Brookfield Illonois to enjoy it.
The history behind this sequel not being released is all because of Midway. Shortly after Midway bought out Atari, they dropped Primal Rage II from the release schedule (not sure why companies do this). The Galloping Ghost Arcade has purchased a prototype board from a collector with some funds coming from a recent fundraiser.
No word on if there will be a digital archived version of this game yet. It would be a shame if it is not digitally archived as electronics are bound to die eventually. Right now, this is one of the few, possibly the only, version of this arcade game available.
