The Mattel Intellivision is one console platform that was much more capable than what it was able to show off to gamers. Thanks to indie developers over the last several years though, the Intellivision has been given a new lease on life. Boulder Dash is one such new title for the failed platform that shows just how far the system could go, if used correctly.
For those not familiar with Boulder Dash, it is a treasure hunting puzzle game. Strategically dropping rocks on enemies will eliminate them and allow you to continue unabated, at least a little less constricted anyhow. Boulder Dash has seen release on tons of platforms over the years including, but not limited to, the Commodore 64, Colecovision, MSX, Amstrad, Spectrum and more.
Development continues on Boulder Dash for Mattel Intellivision with a scheduled release of “Summer 2014”.
